Verse 51
उज्जुगूरे ततः शैलं हन्तुमिन्द्रजितं कपिः । विहाय रावणिस्तस्मादानंहे चाऽन्तिकं पितुः ॥
Metre: अनुष्टुप्
Karandikar: Now the monkey (Sugriva) hurled a rock for kill ing Indrajit. (But) the son of Ravana left (the battle-field) and thence went to his father.

Verse 52
आचचक्षे च वृत्तान्तं प्रजहर्ष च रावनः । गाढं चोपजुगूहैनं शिरस्युपशिशिङ्घ च ॥
Metre: अनुष्टुप्
Karandikar: He reported the happening and immediately Ravana was highly delighted , embraced him tightly and smelt his head.

Verse 53
ध्वजानुद्दुधुवुस्तुङ्गान्मांसं चेमुर्जगुः पपुः । कामयांचक्रिरे कान्तास्ततस्तुष्टा निशाचराः ॥
Metre: अनुष्टुप्
Karandikar: Thereafter the delighted demons hoisted lofty flags, ate meat, sangdrank (and) longed for their sweethearts.

Verse 54
दर्शयांचक्रिरे रामं सीतां राज्ञश्च शासनात् । तस्या मिमीलतुर्नेत्रे लुलुठे पुष्पकोदरे ॥
Metre: अनुष्टुप्
Karandikar: And (they) showed Rama to Sita, at the command of the King. Both her eyes got shut and she rolled down in the interior of the Puspaka.

Verse 55
प्राणा दध्वंसिरे गात्रं तस्तम्भे च प्रिये हते ।उच्छश्वास चिराद्दीना रुरोदाऽसौ ररास च ॥
Metre: अनुष्टुप्
Karandikar: The dear Rama being slain, her life-breaths perished and body stiffened. That miserable (Sita) heaved, wept and screamed for long.

Verse 56
"लौह-बन्धैर्बबन्धे नु वज्रेण किं विनिर्ममे । मनो मे न विना रामाद्यत्पुस्फोट सहस्र-धा ॥
Metre: अनुष्टुप्
Karandikar: "Is my heart caged in iron fetters or is it fashioned out of adamant since it did not burst into a thousand pieces in the absence of Rama ?

Verse 57
उत्तेरिथ समुद्रं त्वं मदर्थेऽरीन्जिहिंसिथ । ममर्थ चाऽतिघोरां मां धिग्जीवित-लघूकृताम् ॥
Metre: अनुष्टुप्
Karandikar: For my sake you crossed the ocean, killed the enemies and perished ! Fie upon me, excessively wicked, rendered lowly (despicable) by life.

Verse 58
न जिजीवाऽसुखी तातः प्राणता रहितस्त्वया । मृतेऽपि त्वयि जीवन्त्या किं मयाऽणकभार्यया।" ॥
Metre: अनुष्टुप्
Karandikar: ‘Deprived of you (who were) alive, (thy) unhappy father did not survive ; What (use) is (your) accursed wife living, even while you are dead.'

Verse 59
सा जुगुप्सान्प्रचक्रेऽसून्जगर्हे लक्षणानि च । देहभाञ्जि ततः केशान्लुलुञ्च लुलुठे मुहुः ॥
Metre: अनुष्टुप्
Karandikar: She got nauseated with her life and censured the (auspicious) signs existing on her person ; then (she) tore off her hair and rolled down again and again.

Verse 60
जग्लौ दध्यौ वितस्तान क्षणं प्राण न विव्यथे । दैवं निनिन्द चक्रन्द देहे चाऽतीव मन्युना ॥
Metre: अनुष्टुप्
Karandikar: She wearied (herself), worried, screamed, stopped breathing for a moment, grieved, blamed Fate, wailed and burnt with excessive grief.
