Verse 41

न्याय्यं यद्यत्र तत्कार्यं पर्यायेणाऽविरोधिभिः । निशोपशायः कर्तव्यः फलोच्चायश्च संहतैः ॥

Metre: अनुष्टुप्

Karandikar: — by you, not hostile (to one another), should be accomplished, by turn, whatever task be appropriate at whichever place and you should indulge in nocturnal sleep and collection of fruits, (by turn).

Verse 42

सीता रक्षो-निकायेषु स्तोक-कायैश्छलेन च । मृग्या शत्रु-निकायानां व्यावहासीमनाश्रितैः ॥

Metre: अनुष्टुप्

Karandikar: ‘‘Sita should be searched for, in the abodes of the demon through guile, by you whose bodies will be made tiny and who will not resort to (mutual) recrimination before hosts of enemies.

Verse 43

सांराविणं न कर्तव्यं यावन्नाऽऽयाति दर्शनम् । संदृष्टायां तु वैदेह्यां निग्राहो वोऽर्थवानरेः ॥

Metre: अनुष्टुप्

Karandikar: No tumultuous uproar should be produced until ( Sita ) does not come into view; after Sita has been apprehended, however, your challenging shouts against the enemy (will be) fruitful.

Verse 44

प्रग्राहैरिव पात्राणामन्वेष्या मैथिली कृतैः । ज्ञातव्या चेङ्गितैर्ध्यायन्ती राघवाऽऽगमम् ॥

Metre: अनुष्टुप्

Karandikar: The Mithila Princess should be searched for by you taking the guise of (beggars, i.e.), holders of begging bowls, and she, who would be pondering upon the arrival of Rama, should be recognised by her righteous (i.e., natural) gestures.

Verse 45

वेदि-वत्स-परिग्राहा यज्ञयैः संस्कृता द्विजैः । दृश्या मास-तमागह्नः प्राग-निन्दित-वेश-भृत् ॥

Metre: अनुष्टुप्

Karandikar: "Sita, who would be wearing a blemishless dress and would be having around a guard like the sacrificial altar sanctified by brahmins worthy of conducting sacrifices, should be perceived (i.e., found out ) by you, before the last day of (this) month.

Verse 46

नीवार-फल-मूलाऽशानृषीनप्यतिशेरते । यस्य गुणा निरुद्द्रावास्तां द्रुतं यात पश्यत ॥

Metre: अनुष्टुप्

Karandikar: ‘Go quickly (and) find (lit., see) her whose changeless virtues surpass even that of the sages who eat wild rice, fruits and roots.

Verse 47

उच्छ्राय-वान्घनाऽऽरावो वानरं जलदाऽरवम् । दूराऽऽप्लावं हनू-मन्तं रामः प्रोचे गजाऽऽप्लवः ॥

Metre: अनुष्टुप्

Karandikar: Possessed of (physical and moral) height, Rama whose voice was like that of clouds and gait like that of an elephant spoke to the monkey Hanuman whose roar was similar to tha of the cloud and whose flights were long.

Verse 48

"अवग्राहे यथा वृष्टिं प्रार्थयन्ते कृषीवलाः । प्रर्थयध्वं तथा सीतां यात सुग्रीव-शासनम् ॥

Metre: अनुष्टुप्

Karandikar: Just as farmers pray for rain during a draught, you too pray for Sita (and) depart on Sugriva's command.

Verse 49

वणिक्प्रग्राह-वान्यद्वत्काले चरति सिद्धये । देशाऽपेक्षास्तथा यूयं याताऽऽदायाऽङ्गुलीयकम्।" ॥

Metre: अनुष्टुप्

Karandikar: Just as a merchant, carrying the balance-string, moves about at proper time for the sake of success so also you go, expecting (to visit) regions, having taken (this) ring.’’

Verse 50

अभिज्ञानं गृहीत्वा ते समुत्पेतुर्नभस्-तलम् । वाजिनः स्यन्दने भानोर्विमुक्त-प्रग्रहा इव ॥

Metre: अनुष्टुप्

Karandikar: Having taken the token-ring they jumped up into the vast sky like the horses of the sun's chariot whose reins are let loose.
