Verse 101

समगध्वं पुरः शत्रोर्मोदयध्वं रघूत्तमम् । नोपायध्वं भयं सीतां नोपायंस्त दशाननः ॥

Metre: अनुष्टुप्

Karandikar: Assemble in front of your enemy; delight the best of Raghus; do not entertain fear; hope, Ravana has not seduced Sita .

Verse 102

ततः प्रास्थिषताऽद्रीन्द्रं महेन्द्रं वानरा द्रुतम् । सर्वे किलकिलायन्तो धैर्यं चाऽऽधिषताऽधिकम् ॥

Metre: अनुष्टुप्

Karandikar: Then chattering aloud, all the monkeys quickly set out for the greatest mountain, Mahendra, and instilled (into themselves) greater courage.

Verse 103

निकुञ्जे तस्य वर्तित्वा रम्ये प्रक्ष्वेदिताः परम् । मणि-रत्नाऽधिशयितं प्रत्युदैक्षन्त तोय-धिम् ॥

Metre: अनुष्टुप्

Karandikar: Having halted in its groves and making ample but soft noise, they saw (in front) the ocean, a repository of the best jewels ;

Verse 104

अ-मर्षितमिव घ्नन्तं तटाऽद्रीन्मलिलोर्मिभिः । श्रिया समग्रं द्युतितं मदेनेव प्रलोठितम् ॥

Metre: अनुष्टुप्

Karandikar: -hitting, as if intolerantat the mountains on its shore, with its watery billows, embellished in toto by its magni ficence and violently rolling through pride;

Verse 105

पूतं शीतैर्नभस्वद्भिर्ग्रन्थित्वेव स्थितं रुचः । गुम्फित्वेव निरस्यन्तं तरङ्गान्सर्वतो मुहुः ॥

Metre: अनुष्टुप्

Karandikar: -sanctified by cool breezes, standing as it were, after knitting together (all) splendours, and hurling everywhere ripples, after stringing them (together);

Verse 106

वञ्चित्वाऽप्यम्बरं दूरं स्वस्मिंस्तिष्ठन्तमात्मनि । तृषित्वेवाऽनिशं स्वादु पिबन्तं सरितां पयः ॥

Metre: अनुष्टुप्

Karandikar: -staying within its own even after having assaulted the far of sky and drinking the sweet waters of the rivers, as if having felt thirsty ;

Verse 107

द्युतित्वा शशिना नक्तं रश्मिभिः परिवर्धितम् । मेरोर्जेतुमिवाऽऽभोगमुच्चैर्दिद्योतिषुं मुहुः ॥

Metre: अनुष्टुप्

Karandikar: -expanded on all sides by the moon, after having lighted it, intent on rising aloft as if for subduing the expanse of the Meru (mountain).

Verse 108

विलोक्य सलिलोच्चयानधि-समुद्रमभ्रंलिहान्भ्रमन्-मकर भीषणं समधिगम्य चाऽधः पयः । गमाऽऽगम-सहं द्रुतं कपि-वृषाः परिप्रैषयन्गजेन्द्र-गुरु-विक्रमं तरु-मृगोत्तमं मारुतिम् ॥

Metre: पृथ्वी

Karandikar: Having observed the lofty cloud-scraping billows above the ocean, and its waters, horrifying on account of the crocodiles, whirling below, the mighty monkeys quickly dispatched Maruti, the best of monkeys, capable of going and returning and possessed of great valour, like the lord of elephants.
