Verse 41
संधुक्षितं मण्डल-चण्ड-वातै- रमर्ष-तीक्ष्णं क्षिति-पाल-तेजः । सामाऽम्भसा शान्तिमुपैतु राजन् ! प्रसीद जीवाम स-बन्धु-भृत्याः ॥
Metre: उपजातिः
Karandikar: ‘Let the king (Rama's) lustre, inflammed by the violent winds of his circle (of allies) and severe on account of his wrath, attain coolness by the water of peace! Be pleased, Oh King; let us live along with (our) kinsmen and dependents.

Verse 42
अ-पक्व-कुम्भाविव भङ्ग-भाजौ राजन्नियातां मरणं समानौ । वीर्ये स्थितः किंतु कृताऽनुरागो रामो भवंश्चोत्तम-भूरि-वैरी ॥
Metre: उपजातिः
Karandikar: Like two unbaked jars that suffer a breakage, Oh King, two equals would attain death (if they fight each other) Rama, however, has abided by valour and has aroused affection (among his allies); (on the other hand), you have the best and very many (for your) enemies.

Verse 43
दण्डेन कोशेन च मन्यसे चेत्प्रकृष्टमात्मानमरेस्तथापि । रिक्तस्य पूर्णेन वृथा विनाशः पूर्णस्य भङ्गे बहु हीयते तु ॥
Metre: उपजातिः
Karandikar: "If you regard yourself as superior to the enemy on account of (your) army and treasury, even then the destruction of the empty (Rama) by (you) who are full is futile; but much (more) would be lost in the destruction of (one like you who is full.

Verse 44
क्लिष्टाऽऽत्म-भृत्यः परिमृग्य-सम्पन्मानी यतेताऽपि स-संशयेऽर्थे । संदेहमारोहति यः कृताऽर्थो नूनं रतिं तस्य करोति न श्रीः ॥
Metre: इन्द्रवज्रा
Karandikar: "One, for whom wealth has to be sought after and one who has highly troubled himself and his servants (for that purpose), may try even for a dubious purpose. But the Goddess of Wealth does not entertain love for him who has fulfilled his objectives (and still) embarks on doubt(ful tasks).

Verse 45
शक्यान्य-दोषाणि महा-फलानि समारभेतोपनयन्समाप्तिम् । कर्माणि राजा विहिताऽनुरागो विपर्यये स्याद्वितथः प्रयासः ॥
Metre: उपजातिः
Karandikar: "A king who has induced affection may undertake possible and flawless actions which bear high fruits (for) bringing them to (proper) conclusion; but, in the opposite (case), the great labour (may prove) fruitless.

Verse 46
जेतुं न शक्यो नृ-पतिः सु-नीतिर्दोषः क्षयाऽऽदिः कलहे ध्रुवश्च । फलं न किंचिन्न शुभा समाप्तिः कृताऽनुरागं भूवि संत्यजाऽरिम् ॥
Metre: उपजातिः
Karandikar: A king whose policies are good is not possible to be conquered; and, in conflict, ruin and other evils are certain ; (there is no fruit nor auspicious end; leave (alone) the enemy who has infused love in the world.

Verse 47
त्वन्-मित्र-नाशो निज-मित्र-लाभः समेत-सैन्यः स च मित्र-कृच्छ्रे । भोग्यो वशः पश्य शरेण शत्रोः प्रसाधितो वालि-वधे न कोऽर्थः ॥
Metre: उपजातिः
Karandikar: Destruction of your friend (Vali), acquisition of a friend (Sugriva) for one's self, and he (too) along with his army useful and subservient in the calamity on his friend (Rama) —see what objective has not been achieved by the arrow of the enemy in the slaying of Vali ?

Verse 48
लोभाद्भयाद्वाऽभिगतः कपीन्द्रो न राघवं येन भवेद्विभेद्यः । स्थितः सतां वर्त्मनि लब्ध-राज्यः प्रति-प्रियं सोऽभ्यगमच्चिकीर्षुः ॥
Metre: उपजातिः
Karandikar: Neither through avarice nor through dread has the lord of the monkeys gone to Rama, so that he may be amenable to defection. He has abided by the path of the good and has acquired (his) kingdom ; he went to (Rama) for doing (him) a good (turn) in return.

Verse 49
फलाशिनो निर्झर-कुञ्ज-भाजो दिव्याऽङ्गनाऽनङ्गरसाऽनभिज्ञाः । न्यग्-जातयो रत्न-वरैरलभ्या मुख्याः कपीनामपि नोपजप्याः ॥
Metre: उपजातिः
Karandikar: Eating fruit, resorting to groves and springs, unacquainted with the joys of sex (Cupid) with divine damsels, belonging to a lower species, not obtainable by excellent jewels, the (other) chiefs of monkeys too are not amenable to secret overtures.

Verse 50
कृताऽभिषेको युवराज-राज्ये सुग्रीव-राजेन सुताऽविशेषम् । तारा-विधेयेन कथं विकारं तारा-सुतो यास्यति राक्षसाऽर्थम् ॥
Metre: उपजातिः
Karandikar: "Coronated, as not different from his own (son), to the office of the Crown-Prince by King Sugriva who was to be guided by Tara, how will (Aigada), the son of Tara, undergo a change for the sake of a demon ?
