Verse 41
वाचं-यमान्स्थण्डिल-शायिनश्च युयुक्षमाणाननिशं मुमुक्षून् ।अध्यापयन्तं विनयात्प्रणेमुः पद्गा भरद्वाज-मुनिः स-शिष्यं ॥
Metre: उपजातिः
Karandikar: Walking on foot, they bowed to sage Bharadwaja and his pupils, with modesty, Bharadwaja who was teaching, day and night, those that controlled their speech, slept on bare ground, desired to practise yoga and wished for salvation

Verse 42
आतिथ्यमेभ्यः परिनिर्विवप्सोः कल्प-द्रुमा योग-बलेन फेलुः । धाम-प्रथिम्नो म्रदिमाऽन्वितानि वासांसि च द्राघिम-वन्त्युदूहुः ॥
Metre: इन्द्रवज्रा
Karandikar: Through the power of concentrated meditation of that reservoir of lustre who was desirous of offering hospitality to them, the wish-yielding trees bore fruit and produced clothes possessing softness and length.

Verse 43
आज्ञां प्रतीषुर्विनयादुपास्थुर्जगुः सरागं ननृतुः स-हावम् । स-विभ्रमं नेमुरुदारमुचुस्तिलोत्तमाऽऽद्या वनिताश्च तस्मिन् ॥
Metre: उपजातिः
Karandikar: And, there, Tilottama and other damsels accepted his orders, humbly waited upon him, sang in musical melodies, danced with jesticulations, bowed gracefully and spoke courteously.

Verse 44
वस्त्राऽन्न-पानं शयनं च नाना कृत्वाऽवकाशे रुचि-संप्रक्wxल्क़्क़्प्तम् । तान्प्रीति-मानाह मुनिस्ततः स्म "निवध्वमाध्वं पिबताऽत्त शेध्वम् ॥
Karandikar: Having kept ready, at various places, clothes, food, drinks and bedstastefully arranged, the delighted sage then told then, ‘‘War, eat, drink and sleep."

Verse 45
ते भुक्तवन्तः सु-सुखं वसित्वा वासांस्युषित्वा रजनीं प्रभाते । द्रुतं समध्वा रथ-वाजि-नागैर्मन्दाकिनीं रम्य-वनां समीयुः ॥
Metre: उपजातिः
Karandikar: They ate with delight; having put on the garments and stayed overnight, taking hastily to the road by chariots, horses and elephants, at day-break, they reached the Ganges having charming woods (on its banks)

Verse 46
वैखानसेभ्यः श्रुत-राम-वार्तास्ततो विशिञ्जान-पतक्त्रि-सङ्घम् ।अभ्रं-लिहाऽग्रं रवि-मार्ग-भङ्गमानंहिरेऽद्रिं प्रति चित्र-कूटम् ॥
Metre: उपजातिः
Karandikar: Having heard the news about Rama from the hermits, they thence proceeded towards the Citrakuta mountain which had flocks of chirping birds, whose summit scratched the sky, (constituting, as it were) an obstacle on the path of the sun.

Verse 47
दृष्ट्वोर्णुवानान्ककुभो बलौघान्वितत्य शार्ङ्गं कवचं पिनह्य । तस्थौ सिसंग्रामयिषुः शितेषुः सौमित्रिरक्षि-भ्रुवमुज्जिहानः ॥
Metre: उपजातिः
Karandikar: On seeing the streams of army fooding the quarters, having stretched his bow and put on his armour, the son of Sumitra who had sharp arrows and who was desirous of fighting stood (ready), raising his eyes and eyebrows.

Verse 48
शुक्लोत्तरासङ्ग-भृतो वि-शस्त्रान्पादैः शनैरापततः प्र-मन्यून् ।औहिष्ट तान्वीत-विरुद्ध-बुद्धीन्विवन्दिषून्दाशरथिः स्व-वर्ग्यान् ॥
Metre: उपजातिः
Karandikar: The son of Dasaratha (Rama) inferred these (armies) that bore white upper garments, ( carrying ) no weapons , approaching slowly on foot and were full of grief, to be his own partisans, devoid of adverse motives and desirous of saluting (him).

Verse 49
स-मूल-काषं चकषू रुदन्तो रामाऽन्तिकं बृंहित-मन्यु-वेगाः ।आवेदयन्तः क्षिति-पालमुच्चैः- कारं मृतं राम-वियोग-शोकात् ॥
Metre: उपजातिः
Karandikar: Weeping, with the tempo of their grief accelerated, and reporting vociferously that the King was dead an account of the grief of separation from Rama, they scratched the ground around Rama so that they (seemed to have) dug (the earth) to its very roots.

Verse 50
चिरं रुदित्वा करुणं स-शब्दं गोत्राऽभिधायं सरितं समेत्य । मध्ये-जलाद्राघव-लक्ष्मणाभ्यां प्रत्तं जलं द्व्यञ्जलमन्तिकेऽपाम् ॥
Metre: उपजातिः
Karandikar: Having wept for long, piteously and loudly, and (then) having gone to the river and (dipped) in the midstream, water was offered, near the waters, by Rama and Laksmana (in oblation) with the cavity of the joined palms, after uttering (Dasaratha's) name.
