Verse 41
फल-भर-मन्थर-तरु-वर- म-विदूर-विरूढ-हारि-कुसुमाऽऽपीडम् । हरिण-कलङ्क-मणि-संभव- बहु-वारि-भर-सुगम्भीर-गुहम् ॥
Metre: उपजातिः
Karandikar: -where excellent trees were bent under the loads of fruit, which wore a wreath of attractive flowers produced not far away (i.e., nearby), whose deep caves were flooded with the plentiful waters originating in the moon-stones ;

Verse 42
जल-काम-दन्ति-संकुल- स-हेम-रस-चारु-धवल-कन्दर-देहम् ।अङ्कुर-तोह-सम-च्छवि- रुरु-गण-संलीढ-तरल-हरि-मणि-किरणम् ॥
Metre: आर्यागीति
Karandikar: -where the beautiful white frames of the caves, full of melted gold, were crowded with elephants desirous of water and where the scintillating rays of the green emeralds whose hues resembled green grass-blades, were, ( for that reason ), licked by flocks of ruru (deer);

Verse 43
गाढ-समीरण-सुसहं भीम-रवोत्तुङ्ग-वारि-धर-संघट्टम् । धवल-जल-वाह-माला- संबन्धाऽऽबद्ध-हिम-धरा-धर-लीलम् ॥
Metre: आर्यागीति
Karandikar: —which was capable of withstanding violent breezes, on which the lofty clouds (producing) terrific thunders dashed against one another, which, on account of the close contact of white clouds, had put on the grace of the Himalaya mountain.

Verse 44
लवण-जल-बन्ध-स-रसं तरु-फल-संपत्ति-रुद्ध-देहाऽऽयासम् । लङ्का-तोरण-वारण- मारूढं समर-लालसं-राम-बलम् ॥
Metre: आर्यागीति
Karandikar: Craving for a battle, Rama's army, which was joyful at the binding down of the ocean , whose physical fatigue was checked (removed) by the abundance of the fruits on trees, and which laid a siege on the outer gates of Lanka, ascended (Suvela).

Verse 45
गुरु-पणव-वेणु-गुञ्जा- भेरी-पेलोरु-झल्लरी-भीम-रवम् । ढक्का-घण्टा-तुमुलं सन्नद्धं पर-बलं रणाऽऽयास-सहम् ॥
Metre: आर्यागीति
Karandikar: (Then) got ready with armour, the enemys army which produced a terrific din of huge musical instruments (parava), flutes, drums, kettle-drums, blow-horns and large cymbals and raised the loud din of hand-drums (dhakkas) and bells and which was capable of withstanding the exertion of war .

Verse 46
आरूढ-बाण-घोरं वि-मलाऽऽयस-जाल-गूढ-पीवर-देहम् । चञ्चल-तुरङ्ग-वारण- संघट्टाऽऽबद्ध-चारु-परिणाह-गुणम् ॥
Metre: आर्यागीति
Karandikar: -(the army) that was dreadful with (the) arrows fixed, whose stout bodies were covered with clean chain mail and which had put on the quality of an attractive vastness on account of the mutual collision of restive horses and elephants;

Verse 47
असि-तोमर-कुन्त-महा- पट्टिश-भल्ल-वर-बाण-गुरु-पुरु-मुसलम् । वीर-रसाऽलङ्कारं गुरु-संचार-हय-दन्ति-स-मही-कम्पम् ॥
Metre: आर्यागीति
Karandikar: -(the army) which carried swords, javelins, lances,

Verse 48
ते रामेण स-रभसं परितरला हरि-गणा रण-समारम्भे । रुद्धा लङ्का-परिसर- भू-धर-परिभङ्ग-लालसा धीर-रवम् ॥
Metre: आर्यागीति
Karandikar: Rashly and excessively restive for the commencement of fighting, those monkey troops that bore a keen craving for tearing of (trees) from the mountains on the outskirts of Lanka, were restrained by Rama in severe tones.

Verse 49
युग्मकम्जल-तीर-तुङ्ग-तरु-वर- कन्गर-गिरि-भित्ति-कुञ्ज-विवराऽऽवासम् । भीमं तरु-हरिण-बलं सु-समिद्ध-हिमारि-किरण-माला-लोलम् ॥
Karandikar: The dreadful monkey-army that occupied water banks, lofty excellent trees, caves, mountains, slopes, groves and burrows, and which was as unsteady as the rows of the rays of the blazing sun,

Verse 50
रावण-बलमवगन्तुं जल-भर-गुरु-सलिल-वाह-गण-सम-च्छायम् ।अट्ट-तरु-मञ्च-मन्द्रिर- तोरण-माला-सभासु समारूढम् ॥
Metre: उपजातिः
Karandikar: - ascended the terraces, trees, high platforms, man sions, series of outer gates and assembly halls, for assessing Ravana's army whose colour was like hosts of clouds heavy with water-loads.
