Verse 51
"अरण्य-याने सु-करे पिता मा प्रायुङ्क्त राज्ये बत दुष्-करे त्वाम् । मा गाः शुचं वीर ! भरं वहाऽमुम्"आभाषि रामेण वचः कनीयान् ॥
Metre: उपजातिः
Karandikar: Father ordained me for going to the forest which was easy to do. Alas, he appointed you for administration which is difficult to carry on . Oh courageous one, do not attain grief ; bear this burden." The younger brother (Bharata) was addressed by Rama with these words.

Verse 52
"कृती श्रुती वृद्ध-मतेषु धीमांस्त्वं पैतृकं चेद्वचनं न कुर्याः । विच्छिद्यमानेऽपि कुले परस्य पुंसः कथं स्यादिह पुत्र-काम्या ॥
Metre: उपजातिः
Karandikar: Accustomed to listening to and acting upon the ideas of the elders and possessed of intelligence, if you do not carry out the paternal order, how then would there arise in this world the desire in any other person, for a son even if the family were to become extinct ?

Verse 53
अस्माकमुक्तं बहु मन्यसे चेद्यदीशिषे त्वं न मयि स्थिते च । जिह्रेष्य-तिष्ठन्यदि तात-वाक्ये जहीहि शङ्कां व्रज शाधि पृथ्वीम्।" ॥
Metre: उपजातिः
Karandikar: If you regard our opinion highly, if you do not (wish to prevail while I exist, if you are ashamed of not abiding by the father's words, then give up fear, go back and rule the earth,’” (said Rama )

Verse 54
"वृद्धौरसां राज्य-धुरां प्रवोढुं कथं कनीयानहमुत्सहेय । मा मां प्रयुक्थाः कुल-कीर्ति-लोपे" प्राह स्म रामं भरतोऽपि धर्य्मम् ॥
Metre: उपजातिः
Karandikar: ‘‘How could I, the younger, dare to bear the yoke of the kingdom, fit to be borne by the eldest, legitimate son ? Do not ordain me for the destruction of the family reputation." To Rama, Bharata too spoke (these) dutiful (words).

Verse 55
"ऊर्जस्-वलं हस्ति-तुरङ्गमेतदमूनि रत्नानि च राज-भाञ्जि । राजन्यकं चैतदहं क्षितीन्द्रस्त्वयि स्थिते स्यामिति शान्तमैतत्।" ॥
Metre: उपजातिः
Karandikar: ‘‘These mighty troops of elephants and horses, these jewels worthy of a king and this host of warriors (to be mine) and I to become the king while you are alive, this (view) has to stop" (added he.

Verse 56
इति निगदितवन्तं राघवस्तं जगाद "व्रज भरत ! गृहीत्वा पादुके त्वं मदीये । च्युत-निखिल-विशङ्कः पूज्यमानो जनौघैः सकल-भुवन-राज्यं कारयाऽस्मन्-मतेन" ॥
Metre: मालिनी
Karandikar: To him who spoke thus, Rama said, "You return, taking with you my sandals. Freed from all doubts and being respected by streams of people, carry on the administration of the whole world at our behest.'
