69 th Independence Day

Is it the mural of Ajanta or India’s map? We debated
which held greater artistic merit.. Sumanta was
naturally inclined, as he spoke of Caitya, effortlessly
spanning over five hundred thousand years of history,
his eyes brightened; yet, when it came to speaking of
the country, I could barely speak beyond 1947!!
I’m growing old, brother. On such an occasion of
independence, let’s cut the cake according to the
dimensions of the state’s map.

The 70 th Independence Day 

Within the depths of the heart, Bihar is being born
gradually,
Inside it lies Haryana, and Gujarat too remains
concealed.
Each one holds a sentence of its own.
I can’t seem to connect these lines to write a poem…
