The Betrayal of Reason: Political Islam, Intellectual Decay, and the Crisis of Indian Civilization

The Khilafat Movement marked the beginning of political Islam in India—the early attempts to leverage Islamic fundamentalism. What we are witnessing around us today is its consequence. Yes, many may argue that such tendencies existed earlier as well. But it was the political decisions of that specific time that have plunged India into its current state. And this vile practice has been carried forward by every political party in India for years. It reveals a deep-rooted pattern of moral weakness—preserving a potent form of violence to maintain a balance of power in society. There may be countless other causes behind it, whether micro or macro, but it is the intent that should be evaluated first—is it honest?

I am not afraid of Islam. Among the handful of people who stood by me in times of personal crisis, a majority were Muslims by birth—and that, even beyond the borders of this country. I am afraid of the intellectual prostitutes, who, in an effort to validate their own opinions, are ready to sacrifice everything society stands for. These are the ones who have tried to erase civilizational history simply because they are lazy—they will not put in the effort to read it properly. And because they know that if others read it, they would lose relevance, they fabricated their own version of history. Many, of course, fall into this trap under sheer peer pressure. That too is a side effect of excessive social media use. I am certain that many who today identify as Marxists have not even read Lenin’s letters. Those speaking about Indology do not even know basic Sanskrit. What future awaits these lazy, ignorant, showboating people? Apart from bribing their way into a job—nothing.

The point is, read—read texts, real books. Read the primary texts in their original languages. And when you hear someone parroting opinions at a tea stall after reading an opinion piece—kick them in the face. Fart in the face of those who chase fame. These are the greatest enemies of society—those who, in times of social crisis, sought to make themselves seem important. Take a side—but before doing so, ask questions. Ask the right questions—fundamental questions. Ask them the source of their statements. It’s been almost a decade since I stopped trusting the media. Many of you may not have that option—so if you hear something from the media, question that too. Learn to question. The answers will come. Don’t confuse faith, religion, and dharma. Remember, the end of your life or mine will not be the end of civilization. So grow… grow truly great in this world of falsehood. Be wary of anything that tries to belittle you, or measure you in small terms.

Secularism is a separatist term—an evolved form of “divide and rule.” Once you discard the hollow pretensions of secularism, you will realize what the true key in Indian civilization is—that which embraces everyone. For thousands of years, what has allowed India to unify such tremendous diversity? Why has unity in diversity been possible at all?

India is a place for dissenters. Those you are currently worshipping often speak of the right to dissent, but cannot actually practice it. Because the discipline it requires is alien to them—they don’t want it. Their lives are full of sexual frustration, depression, trauma, anxiety, and other such things. The right kind of learning will give you peace. If it doesn’t, know for sure that the learning is wrong. Your intelligence is more powerful than any AI. Use it—with reason. Let reasoning lead to conclusion. Then make your decision.

If you need a term for it, then be inclusive. Accept. Love. Not in BJP’s version of Hindutva, but in the civilizational idea of Bhāratīyatā…
