Chapter 13.143 - Verse 16

Sanskrit Text

पौराणीं ब्रह्मगुहां प्रविष्टो; महीसत्रं भारताग्रे ददर्श चैव गामुद्दधाराग्र्यकर्मा; विक्षोभ्य दैत्यानुरगान्दानवांश्च

English Translation

The celestials headed by Indra sang his praises when he lifted up thc Gobardhana mountains for protecting the cowherds of Vrindavan against the incessant showers that Indra poured in anger. He is, O Bharata, the one Blessing to all creatures. He, O Bharata, having entered the old Brahmacave, saw from that place the original cover of the world in the beginning of time.
