Never Returned to Pen is Rik Amrit's debut English poetry collection, translated and reimagined from three earlier Bengali works — College Streeter Chaplin (2018), Bhasa Bicharok Jar (2023), and Katha Diye Sajano (2025). Moving through five movements — Displacement, Awakening, Creation, Reckoning, and Departure — the poems trace the city as wound and memory, the awakening of political consciousness, the struggle for authentic voice, and a long reckoning with love and loss. With a foreword by Prof. L. V. Shanthakumari and a glossary of cultural references, the collection carries Bengali literary sensibility into English without losing its roots.
